My husband, Zachary, lives at Avantara Evergreen Park. He is a veteran who goes to Jesse Brown VA Hospital for specialty care, and his doctor is very impressed with the wound care he receives at Avantara. The wound care team does a great job keeping the wounds clean as they heal.  I’m grateful to their team, especially Kenera, Mary, Sherri, Marletha, Rainy, Stephanie, Shalonda, Avis, Vera, Celelita, Gloria, Penet, Tony, and  Betty, for their genuine care to my husband and for being accommodating and pleasant to  our family. They all go above and beyond to ensure he gets everything he needs, and seeing them tend to his needs means a lot.  I will be forever thankful to everyone at Avantara for caring for my husband.

I am a retired registered nurse who worked at the University of Chicago Hospital for 36 years. I was a patient at Avantara Evergreen Park from 2022 to 2023, and I received excellent patient care as I recovered from knee surgery. I was treated with dignity and respect throughout my stay. I would like to recognize your team for their exemplary care, especially Ashley (LPN). She is an exceptional employee. She went above and beyond the call of duty and took a personal interest in her patients and their families. She made my stay as comfortable as possible. She responds to residents positively and reassuringly. She demonstrates a high level of pride in her profession, and she is skilled in her daily patient care. She was very good to me. She is an asset to your facility and the residents and families that she serves.

My brother has been staying at Avantara Evergreen Park for two weeks now. He was having difficulty walking after major surgery, so we wanted him to stay in an excellent place with in-house dialysis. The staff is always cordial and happy to assist. My brother has a great stay with no complaints. He is very happy and content. He feels safe, making a lot of progress, and moving around better. When I came to pick him up once, they made sure to have my brother ready downstairs, so I didn’t have to go all the way to his room. They’re so thoughtful and considerate! Great service! The facility is white-glove clean, spotless! I worked in a hospital, and I know it’s important to give a shout-out to a team for doing a good job. I also appreciate Ron (hospital liaison) for being accommodating and answering our every question. He was a great help in placing my brother in Avantara, and we are looking forward to discussing more about my brother’s long-term placement after his discharge.

I came to Avantara Evergreen Park for physical and speech therapy after a stroke. When I first arrived, I could not walk on my own and needed the assistance of a wheelchair. The physical therapists created a plan to help me regain my strength, and now I can walk from the gym to my room with only the assistance of a walker. The speech therapist also did a great job. I was having trouble talking, and now I can speak better than ever. The staff at Avantara is excellent. Thank you for everything you did to help me recover. I am excited to return home soon!

I came to Avantara Evergreen Park for respiratory therapy after a hospital stay. The staff is professional and friendly, and everyone really cares about my recovery. The therapists  keep me up and moving during rehabilitation, to stay active and strengthen my body. Veeda, Henrietta, and the rest of the wound care staff were pleasant and friendly. I’m thankful for their care and compassion, which helped my mom heal better. Bob (CNA) took extra care in bathing her. Rainey (social services coordinator) and Loretta (escort) went the extra mile to help us get services and other items needed when we went home. I’m grateful that they value their jobs and give the guests the love and attention they deserve.
